Radio Remote Controls & Hydraulic Oil Tanks – Frequently Asked Questions
What types of radio remote controls are available and what are their key features?
There are different models that vary in range, functionality, and protection class:
RTX Nimble radio remote control (2 functions):
- Transmitter: 2 controls, range 100–150 m in open field, IP67, charging indicator light
- Receiver: 2 outputs, IP67, 12/24 VDC nominal supply (10–30 VDC), reverse polarity protection
- Shipping availability: on request
Hydromot radio remote control (2 functions):
- Transmitter: 2 controls, 430–440 MHz, 2x AA 1.5V batteries, IP64, operating temperature -20°C to +70°C
- Receiver: 2 outputs, 430–440 MHz, IP65, 24 VDC nominal supply (10–36 VDC), operating temperature -30°C to +70°C
- Shipping availability: 1–2 days
Hydromot radio remote control (4 functions):
- Transmitter: 4 controls, 430–440 MHz, 2x AA DC3V batteries, IP64, operating temperature -20°C to +70°C
- Receiver: 4 outputs, 430–440 MHz, IP65, 24 VDC nominal supply, operating temperature -30°C to +70°C
- Shipping availability: 1–2 days
What capacities are available for hydraulic oil tanks and what common features do they have?
Steel hydraulic oil tanks are available in the following sizes:
- 40 liters
- 55 liters
- 75 liters
All tanks are equipped with:
- Return filter (10 µm)
- Drain valve
- Integrated oil level indicator
Return connections:
- 40 L & 55 L: 3/4" female thread, max. 72 l/min return flow
- 75 L: 1 1/2" female thread, max. 230 l/min return flow
What protection classes (IP codes) are specified for the radio remote controls?
The IP protection codes are:
- RTX Nimble: transmitter IP67, receiver IP67
- Hydromot 2-/4-function: transmitter IP64, receiver IP65
What is the practical range of the radio connection?
The specified ranges (100–150 m for RTX Nimble, approx. 50–100 m for Hydromot) refer to open line-of-sight. In practice, the range is reduced by obstacles, electromagnetic interference, or buildings. For applications with many sources of interference, it is recommended to mount the antenna as high and as freely accessible as possible.
Are the transmitters waterproof and shock-resistant?
The IP67 protection class (RTX Nimble) means complete protection against dust and temporary immersion in water. The Hydromot transmitters with IP64 are splash-proof but not designed for continuous submersion. Shock resistance is inherently high by design, but transmitters should still be protected from heavy mechanical impacts.
How long do the transmitter batteries last in operation?
Battery life depends on usage. Under normal operation, the batteries of Hydromot transmitters (AA batteries) last several months. For the RTX Nimble transmitter with integrated rechargeable battery, a service life of up to 500 charging cycles can be expected.
Can multiple radio remote controls be used simultaneously in one operation?
Yes, in practice multiple systems can be used in parallel. Thanks to frequency coding and channel separation, mutual interference is generally avoided. It is important that transmitters and receivers are correctly paired. In environments with a very high number of devices in close proximity, it is advisable to consult the manufacturer for suitable frequency management solutions.
How can hydraulic oil tanks be protected against contamination and condensation?
In addition to the integrated return filter, it is recommended to equip the tank with a breather filter to minimize the ingress of dirt particles and moisture. In humid environments or where there are strong temperature fluctuations, water separators can also be used. Regular oil sampling helps to monitor contamination levels.
