With different motor power ratings, voltages and tank sizes, the hydraulic power units can be flexibly adapted to your requirements. The integrated valve technology enables reliable control, while the compact design facilitates installation even in the tightest spaces. Benefit from durability, ease of maintenance and high operational safety – perfect for stationary and mobile hydraulic applications.

Compact hydraulic power units – Frequently Asked Questions

What is a compact hydraulic power unit?

A compact hydraulic power unit is a compact and modular assembly designed to supply and control hydraulic systems – especially where installation space is limited. It integrates an electric motor, pump, tank and, if necessary, valve technology in a small and efficient unit.

What are the main components of a compact hydraulic power unit?

A compact power unit typically consists of:

  • an electric motor
  • a hydraulic pump (e.g. gear or radial piston pump)
  • a tank/housing, often made of aluminum, which also serves as a structural component

Additionally, valves and other hydraulic components can be integrated. Thanks to the modular design, individual parts can be replaced.

What performance ranges are compact hydraulic power units available in?

  • Flow rate: approx. 0.2 to 55 l/min
  • Motor power: 0.09 to 11 kW
  • Tank volume: 0.5 to >100 liters

Our AC compact units are available from 0.75 to 5.5 kW (smaller sizes from 0.12 kW on request). DC compact units are available in 2, 3 and 4 kW (smaller sizes also on request). Drives are available in 12 V, 24 V (DC) as well as 230 V and 400 V (AC).

What are the application areas of compact hydraulic power units?

Typical applications include:

  • Lifting platforms, lifting tables, pallet trucks
  • Tipper trailers, stabilizers
  • Machine tools, small presses
  • Automation technology, door systems, robotics
  • Vehicles, commercial vehicles
  • Wind turbines, material testing systems

Thanks to their compact design, they are particularly suitable for confined installation spaces.

What advantages do compact hydraulic power units offer?

  • Space-saving design for confined installation areas
  • Modular design – easy to expand and adapt
  • Resource- and cost-saving due to low oil volume
  • High operational safety and durability thanks to effective cooling
  • Easy maintenance, quick replacement
  • Noise-optimized through integration and oil-bath operation

What must be considered when selecting the tank size for a compact hydraulic power unit?

The tank size affects the efficiency and service life of the system:

  • Stationary hydraulics: Tank volume approx. 3–5 times the pump flow rate
  • Mobile hydraulics: Factor 1–2 is sufficient, usually with an additional oil cooler

What installation positions are possible for compact hydraulic power units?

The installation position can be horizontal or vertical. An exception is rectangular tanks – here the installation position is always horizontal.

How is a compact hydraulic power unit designed for a log splitter?

The design depends on:

  • required splitting force
  • desired cylinder speed
  • efficiency of the hydraulic system and motor
